Get greasy & learn RAD skills…
Our DIY Mehanics sessions empower people to learn, share and connect. This feeds back into RAD and out into the community, enabling more people to repair and ride.
Mechanics Courses
We’ve split our popular Mechanics Course into two 4 week courses to give more options and flexibility for all.
Based on the ‘Park Tools School Curriculum’, Part 1 & 2 cover a range of topics and are aimed at people who want to become confident bike mechanics.
Courses are held regularly throughout the year (generally on Thursday evenings 6.30-9pm, during term times).
Classes are limited to eight students so everyone gets plenty of attention and hands-on learning. Includes Attendance Certificate, Park Tools Manual highly recommended and available for purchase.

Drop-In Sessions
Regular public DIY mechanics sessions.
Anyone can join us to recycle and fix bikes for themselves or others. Tools are provided with volunteers on hand to assist.
Our drop-in sessions have been at the heart of RAD operations since our inception. They bring to life our kaupapa enabling all to access cycling, recycling & community connection.
These run Sundays 12-4pm and Wednesdays 6.30-8.30pm (except public holidays) and run on a first in, first served basis. Be warned, these sessions are super popular, so be prepared to hang out, help out, enjoy or join the RADness while you wait for your turn.
Hopefully see you soon!

Youth Workshops
We’ve reshaped our Youth Workshops to maximise our RAD impacts.
We’re now collaborating with community organisations to support young people (10+) into RAD riding and learning.
In these 2 hour workshops, nominated rangatahi receive a RAD bike, helmet and lock, as well as learn basic maintenance skills to keep them riding and being RAD
Led by RAD mechanics and youth volunteers, these workshops are limited to eight students to ensure lots of hands-on learning.
